| Dunno if people have been following this, but James Kim's body was found today. (If you haven't seen the story, it is probably still on the Although I know some people at cnet, I didn't know James personally, but I was very sad by this as he left behind a wife and 2 young children. I used to watch his gadget reviews. I hope his family has solace and peace in their mourning and recovery time. | | |
| wow, i suck. i haven't posted in 3+ months. so grouchy and i hit the new westfield / bloomie's shopping center and i have to say, it was a great day. yes, a bit of a mini shopping spree, but it's been a long time. btw, that bloomie's totally MAKES that whole shopping center. everything else was pretty much whatev. i got some nice pieces that i've been looking for including the only pair of jeans that i'll need for the next 5 yrs. unfortunately, i did not get a new pair of sunglasses as i wanted, but only b/c bloomies wasn't carrying the specific style from the specific designer that i was looking for. | | |
| It's damn hot where I work. DAMN HOT. Hot like an oven, that's turned on to some hot temperature. Hot like Iron Chef Chen Kenichi's Szechuan cooking. Hot like a black leather interior of a car that has been in the sun for a few hours while you shop, and then you get back in the car and the seat belt buckle touches your arm and you're like, "Bloody hell! That's farking hot!" The inside of my office building is air conditioned, but merely opening the door to the outside invites a Miltonesque, infernal wave of heat to roll over you like -- not like a pleasant alpine breeze scented with flowers rolls over you, but like a really hot, sweaty sumo wrestler running into you at full speed rolls over you. It's like that Sprite commercial where the Lemon and Lime sumo guys run towards each other and flatten the guy in the middle. That's me and heat, except the heat only comes from one side, not from both sides in a sandwich-like motion. But I digress. The point of talking about the heat was to mention the irrepressibly cheery mood that I seem to be in. Well, I don't really SEEM to be in it, as I am either in a mood or not in a mood. I mean, one doesn't "seem to be in a mood" now, does one? But I digress AGAIN. I'm glad I have this innate ability to focus, lest I confuse my Xanga readership of 3.
Anyway, I seem to be in an Irrepressibly Cheery Mood (ICM) lately, or at least today. I closed the door to my office and listened to 5 CDs straight of Diana Krall off of my iPod (on external speakers that I brought to work). One can't listen to Diana Krall singing standards like "Let's Fall in Love" without being affected. I was walking around the office whistling. I either made other people happy, or was incredibly annoying. I tend to have that effect. This is why people like me don't need drugs.
1 week until Hawaii. Unfortunately, I'm going solo, to attend a wedding. To clarify, it's not unfortunate that I'm attending the wedding. Rather, I'm quite happy and honored to be attending the wedding in the capacity in which I am ... in attendance. The misfortune, rather, is that I have to attend the wedding alone. sucks. I would have enjoyed the time with the wife jogging up and down the beach while she fell asleep in the sun.
| Man, it's hot. I wish our place had AC. By the way, we're moving ... out the hood to a nicer part of Oaktown.

| One night, Agnes and I were eating dinner and I saw someone at the restaurant wearing this sweatshirt and remarked how cool it was, since I am a huge Miyazaki fan. Being the great wife that she is, I was given a surprise gift of my own Totoro sweatshirt:

It's too warm to wear it right now, but I'll be rocking this during the colder months, trust that!
